Family – Part 3 of 6 – Adam

“I didn’t want to come, honestly.

This was a gift from our parents to us, and it was the equivalent of someone buying a bowling ball for someone else because they like bowling.

But having been here, this is one of the most peaceful places on earth. And, you know, maybe this is the way to live because everybody here seems very happy.

The bus driver drove me here, and it was 8 o’clock at night, and I was greeted by Mirjana. I didn’t even know who she was, and she fed me. Then she said her name, and I was like, “Oh wait. Is this the… ?”

And she was just like, “No, you eat,” and brought me way too much food.

That was probably the moment where I was like, “Oh this is really cool.”

I’m definitely a skeptic. I am still skeptical, personally, but I don’t doubt that other people are really experiencing this.

What is it like being here with your whole family?

We have definitely been coming to terms with some stuff.

Every night we share our high point and our low point. And the low point can still be high, it’s just lower than the rest. Or the high point can be low if you’ve had a bad day. That’s been fun.

My brother shared with me some things that he hadn’t shared with anyone else, which was really cool. It seems like he is opening up. I thought he was going to be absolutely terrified of the traveling, but he seems to have found a bit of peace which is amazing.

Walking past the grapevines and the people tilling the soil, it’s been neat. It’s something I’ve been planning on doing, but I’m probably going to get on it quicker, is gardening in my backyard.”
