I first heard about Medjugorje through a friend of mine who sponsored Stella Mar’s movie, Apparition Hill.
I was asked to go to Medjugorje. We had just had a retreat on Hearts on Fire, and I couldn’t say no because my heart was on fire.
I had no idea what to expect. I came just to thank the Blessed Mother for bringing me closer to Jesus. That was it, not expecting anything else. I wanted to say, “Thank you for my faith. Thank you for putting up with me all these years, with my lukewarmness and my doubts. I don’t want to be that. I just want to love you, and so I’m coming to love you. That’s it.”
It changed my life completely. The Holy Spirit enlightened me so much. I’m on fire all the time. People think I’m a crazy person, and I say, “I’m crazy in love with Jesus, and I love Mama Mary, and I love God.”
My life changed. Before, I would have these feelings and I would not express them. Now, I express them. It’s okay if you think I’m crazy because I’m just crazy in love, crazy in love with Jesus.
That’s what Medjugorje did for me.
Medjugorje is home. It’s happiness and joy. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
You feel the joy, but you also feel the strength. You know that you’re going to face trails. That’s all a part of life, a part of Jesus. We know what’s coming, but we know how to celebrate when we come together as disciples.
It’s like the disciples all coming together and Jesus joining them.
We’re here, and we’re free to be who we are. We are children of God. We’re all so very different, but we’re all the Body of Christ. We do not stand alone. We’re a full body here. That’s what I feel.
She is calling people here, but She is bringing them to Her Son. It’s Jesus calling us through His Mother.
Way back with that Hearts on Fire retreat, little did I know that it would lead me here.
Here, you can set aside all of the distractions that keep you away from God so that when you go home, you see His hand in everything and you see Her in everything.
