Daphne & Ray

Daphne: Unfortunately, my mother passed away four weeks ago.

She believed and spread the message of Medjugorje. For years she told people about Medjugorje, even though she’d never been here. She believed in every single thing to do with Medjugorje. She was a testimony to me in my life.

It was all a miracle how this all came abou. Medjugorje has always been on the back burner. I’ve always known I was going to come, but I waited for Our Lady’s call.

That’s what inspired us. My mom was not doing well, and we thought, “This will be in tribute to my mother too.”

It was just laid upon my heart that I need to come to Medjugorje, and everything fell into place after that, from finding a group that was doing tours to getting the funds to come. It all fell into place, and I knew we were supposed to come.

Ray: Her mother’s name is Mary.

Daphne: The most beautiful name of any name on Earth.

My two moms.

It’s very peaceful. I feel like I’m being loved by Our Lady and by God and being protected and cared for. I feel totally at peace.

Ray:The highlight is Apparition Hill. It’s stunning and peaceful. You certainly feel the presence of Mary when you’re there.

I also have to say that Mirjana’s talk that she gave us was utterly inspiring. You have to experience that to understand it. She may be a visionary, but she just exudes the love of Mary and Christ.

You can’t make up those stories for 40 years. I’m sure all the visionaries speak the truth as well.

It means that we better get busy because we need prayer for the peace, and we don’t have enough of that right now.

Daphne: Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill but also being able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist twice a day has been a highlight for me. Being in His presence during Mass among all these believers, all these Catholics, that’s awe inspiring to me.

I really feel the presence of God when I’m with all these people in front of Jesus and with Jesus.

I think it’s bringing us closer too. I think it was good timing for our marriage and bringing us together closer to God.

I don’t know about him, but I think we’ve already decided we’re probably going to be coming back because we’ve fallen in love with this place.

We’d love to bring other people with us. We’ve already talked about that.

Ray: There’s definitely much more to experience in Medjugorje than we’re going to see in seven days.

The emphasis on faith, family, Mary, there’s things that you can’t comprehend or experience all in such a short time.

It’s a time to process what we can and then plan on another trip.
